Carrie Underwood’s 2010 “Play On” Tour is officially underway. The 27 year country music sensation kicks off the 56-concert tour tonight (Thursday) in Reading, PA at the Sovereign Center.
Underwood’s camp promises the show will be something fans won’t soon forget. “Underwood will be closer to her fans with an unexpected surprise,” her tour director said, “guaranteeing that even the audience at the back of the house will sometimes have a front row seat at the concert.”
The “Play On Tour” follows Underwood’s most recent, and very successful, third studio album of the same name.
The tour marks the fifth time the Underwood has hit the road since she found overnight fame just five years ago on Idol. Since then Carrie’s fan base has continued to grow with each new album and tour. Tickets for several shows on the “Play On Tour” sold out in less than half an hour after going on sale. While the tour is currently slated to wrap on June 20 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (Canada) more dates could be added.
Special guests Craig Morgan and Sons of Sylvia will join Carrie Underwood for the “Play On Tour.”
